Student Participation Committee

Mission:

The mission/purpose of the Student Participation Committee is to support, encourage, and expand the engagement of students in the activities of IASWG. Student activities could include symposium participation, joining local IASWG chapters, or sitting in on IASWG committees once joined as members. A key student function is to develop and innovate student connection, retention, and inclusion in IASWG.

Goals for 2025:

• Gradually growing attendance of students at various IASWG events
• Enhancing the annual symposium experience for all students attending our symposium
• A long-term goal of building enthusiasm of students for IASWG participation

2025 initiatives:

• Building the Committee to include additional students who represent a global membership
• Outreach to existing and future student members for feedback and connection
• Planning for student engagement and involvement in our upcoming IASWG Symposium activities/programming

Message:

The Student Participation Committee Co-Chairs encourage interested members to connect with us and our current committee members, Kristina Lind and Sam Pompeo. In 2025, the Student Participation Committee is reaching out to all members (especially student members!) to join us in building a stronger IASWG student involvement. The Student Participation Committee is committed to building a stronger, long-term involvement in IASWG for students, and we want your help.
