Continuing Education Contact Hours 

Continuing Education Contact Hours for the 2020 Virtual Symposium will be provided by NYU Silver School of Social Work. Please review the requirements for continuing education in your local area or contact your state’s regulatory board to determine course approval for continuing education credits.

Social Workers participating in the IASWG 2020 Symposium are eligible to receive a total of 22.5 continuing education contact hours based on the number of CE-eligible presentations that you attend during the Pre-Symposium Institutes (June 17-18, 2020) and the Educational Presentations (June 19-20, 2020). Attendance is tracked using the Usage Report in Zoom. You MUST attend the sessions in their entirety from start to finish to be eligible for Continuing Education Contact Hours. Continuing Education Contact Hours will only be granted for attendance in the live sessions and NOT for recorded sessions.

For social workers seeking Continuing Education Contact Hours, keep in mind that only specific presentations are eligible for Continuing Education Contact Hours. These are noted on our Presentation Schedule and Pre-Symposium Institute webpages.

How to Obtain Your Continuing Education Contact Hours

Note: Continuing Education Contact Hours are only available to individuals who register for the Virtual Symposium (on the IASWG website) AND pay the additional $25 CE registration fee in the NYU Silver CE Online Portal. 

1. Register for the IASWG Symposium
   
• Registration rates include access to Friday, 6/19 and Saturday, 6/20 live presentations and recordings. Your registration grants you access to two full days of live presentations as well as access to the session recordings for 30 days after the conclusion of the IASWG 2020 Virtual Symposium. We do have a one-day registration option if you are only able to attend sessions or Friday or on Saturday. 
• Please visit our Pre-Symposium Institutes webpage for Wednesday, 6/17 and Thursday, 6/18 Institute fees.

• Continuing Education Contact Hours will only be granted for participation in the live sessions. CE Contact Hours will NOT be provided for recorded sessions.

2. Register for Continuing Education Contact Hours, for the 2020 IASWG Symposium, by logging into the NYU Silver CE Online Portal
• Fill in the billing information, click register, and pay the $25.00 CE registration fee
3. During the symposium, to receive your continuing education contact hours, you must:
1. Attend presentations listed as CE Session from the presentation Start Time to the End Time.
• To record your attendance, a Usage Attendance Report in Zoom will be generated for each CE-eligible presentation (this report includes attendee's names and length of time in each presentation). We will share this report with NYU Silver School of Social Work to confirm attendance. Please ensure your Zoom display name is your first and last name. Note: In Zoom, to change the name that is displayed, hover over your name in the participants list and click Rename. You can also permanently change your name in your profile.
2. Please write in which presentations that you attend using this CE Session Attendance Tracker worksheet.
4. After the symposium:
1. No later than two days following the symposium, please email [email protected] your completed CE Session Attendance Tracker worksheet.
   
2. You will receive an email from NYU with a link to complete the post-event evaluation. Once completed, within 7-10 business days from taking the evaluation, log back on to NYU Silver CE Online Portal to download your CE certificate of completion. 
• To download your certificate, log on to NYU Silver CE Online Portal and click on “Your Registrations” tab at the top of the page. Next to the name of the conference, you will see “download certificate” in red. (Your certificate will always be available here to print or download as needed)

New York University Silver School of Social Work is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers {#SW-0012}. This organization (NYU Silver School of Social Work, 1415) is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) www.aswb.org through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. NYU Silver School of Social Work maintains responsibility for the program. ASWB Approval Period: 11/11/16 - 11/11/20. Social workers should contact their regulatory board to determine course approval for continuing education credits.
